JOB TITLE: SENIOR TECHNICIAN - RO Desalination, Water and Wastewater Treatment Operations


Technical Specialist


DESCRIPTION: The Senior Technician holds a key role in managing projects, specifically focusing on desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants, including complex international projects. This position entails overseeing operations, maintenance, installation, and repair services, with a significant portion of these tasks managed by external contractors.


REPORTING LINES: Operations Manager


DUTIES/AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:


  • Lead and oversee the detailed installation, start-up, and commissioning of advanced water treatment processes for desalination, reverse osmosis plants, and water treatment facilities.

  • Manage and execute project activities, especially those of high value, with a specialized focus on desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants.

  • Develop comprehensive job costing spreadsheets tailored for estimating project costs accurately in desalination and water treatment projects.

  • Design sophisticated engineering plans for complex piping systems, cutting-edge water treatment processes, and precise process controls specific to desalination and reverse osmosis plants.

  • Source and procure specialized materials and equipment required for desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants, ensuring adherence to industry standards.

  • Create detailed bills of materials tailored for desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plant projects and prepare technically sound proposals and quotations.

  • Conduct thorough review, interpretation, and reporting on water quality analyses specific to desalination, reverse osmosis plants, and water treatment.

  • Conduct regular on-site visits to customer facilities to conduct in-depth process testing, optimize performance, and identify enhancements for desalination and reverse osmosis plants.

  • Efficiently plan and schedule technicians and resources required for desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plant projects.

  • Recruit, manage, and supervise highly skilled subcontracted technicians and laborers proficient in desalination and reverse osmosis plant operations.

  • Engage proactively in continuous training and professional development activities within desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plant technologies to stay at the forefront of industry advancements.

  • Oversee the financial aspects and profitability of operation and maintenance service contracts specifically related to desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants.

  • Ensure top-notch quality delivery and maintain regular communication with clients to achieve exceptional satisfaction for desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plant projects.

  • Actively participate in monthly management meetings and team gatherings to align strategies and foster collaboration.

  • Monitor and manage the company's email correspondence effectively, maintaining swift and informed responses.

  • Adhere rigorously to company policies and procedures while actively suggesting improvements that benefit the company within the context of desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants.



QUALIFICATIONS / SOFT & TECHNICAL SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (industrial engineering, mechanical, chemical processing) with specialized expertise in desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants.

  • 5 years’ experience in desalination, water treatment or similar field.

  • Profound knowledge of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and resource allocation specific to desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects concurrently, focusing on desalination and reverse osmosis plant technologies.

  • Collaborative team player with the capacity to work seamlessly across diverse teams and mentor junior technicians in advanced desalination and reverse osmosis plant operations.

  • Meticulous attention to detail in project execution and administrative tasks related to desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants.

  • Excellent English communication skills; proficiency in other languages is an asset.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.

  • Prior experience living and working on a Caribbean island, with a strong focus on desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants, is preferred.

  • Preferential consideration for Visa Candidates, especially from the CARICOM region, and relocation assistance available for eligible candidates focused on desalination, water treatment, and reverse osmosis plants.
